Job Summary:
The
Red Hat Software Engineering team is seeking an experienced Software
Engineer to join us in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will be
responsible for managing software lifecycle infrastructure and
overseeing project delivery. We'll need you to have a solid technical
background in web frameworks and DevOps design flows, and an ability to
scope and assess problem statements with a defined approach to solutions
is preferred. A solid grasp of the fundamentals of computer science,
including design of algorithms, is important for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Build and assemble prototypes as required with assistance from senior engineers
- Deliver high quality solutions that are extensible and scalable within a specified timeline
- Participate in and contribute to code reviews
- Identify product requirements and potential improvements
- Participate in the complete software development life cycle, from requirement gathering to deployment of the solution
- Conduct system analysis and development; review and repair legacy code
- Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems
- Debug and resolve any field issues
- Document code consistently throughout the development process
- Review, to the extent possible, changes in code and the environment that will affect system performance
Required skills:
- Demonstrated ability in Python, Ruby, and related frameworks
- Excellent data structure and algorithm skills
- Operating system and Linux internal skills
- Knowledge of open source software development concepts and methodologies
- Ability to multitask while ensuring quality of work
- Solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with customers if necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
